Clearing Storm, Sonoma County Hills, CA

Print Notes

This is the only larger scale print of this image in the collection and is part of the large museum set. In 1951 Adams accepted a commission to produce a five-panel screen for the dining room in a ranch house north of San Francisco. "I have spent several days at the ranch, mostly in the rain, but I think I got a beautiful negative - hills and forested summits rising above the fog and clouds - very much Chinese in mood," he wrote.
